The end of August has come upon us (and the end of summer perhaps, other than does summer really end on the Texas Gulf Coast?) and with it comes the last fishing report update for any August fishing activities around the region. I wish I had actually looked at this last week, just prior to the weekend, as perhaps I would have sought out to the jetties around Freeport and aim for some Spanish Mackerel. ah well, better late than never I guess; here is a link to the updated Texas regional fishing report Updated Texas Parks and Wildlife Fishing Report
Here’s to hopes that September fishing will bring the area big fish rather than the big tropical systems that can be customary in the Gulf this time of year.
In the unfortunate event of a tropical system developing or heading your way, I like to use Weather Underground as my source for information and tracking Weather Underground Tropical Page be sure to check them out, the site is one of my favorites for all my weather needs.
